Pro 3:5-10 (NKJV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
(AMPC)
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
8 It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.
9 Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;
10 So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine.
There are obvious and hidden benefits of putting God first and not giving Him the leftovers of our lives.
Ws - Watch, Wisdom, Wield, Wage, Weigh, Weight
[Mar 13:37 NKJV] 37 "And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"
[Mar 14:38 NKJV] 38 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak."
[1Co 16:13 NKJV] 13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
[1Th 5:6 NKJV] 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others [do], but let us watch and be sober.
[Col 4:2 KJV] 2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Watch - give strict attention to, be cautious, active, to take heed lest through remission and indolence some destructive calamity suddenly overtake one
When I watch, I observe. I can see what I need. I can see what I am lacking.
[Hab 2:1-4 KJV] 1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4 Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
watch - post, office, where guards are set
[Isa 62:6-7 KJV] 6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
[Eph 6:18 NKJV] 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
Wisdom
[Jas 1:5-6 NKJV] 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Wield
[Rom 5:17 NKJV] 17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
[Eph 2:6 NKJV] 6 and raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,
Weigh
[Rom 4:19-20 NKJV] 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
Weight
[Psa 55:22 NIV] 22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
[1Pe 5:7 NIV] 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
As - Ask, Acknowledge
Ask - desire, want
[Mar 11:22-24 NKJV] 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. 23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them].
Is - Inquire, Investigate, Imagine, Intercede
[Jos 1:8 NKJV] 8 "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
meditate - study, think, ponder, say, imagine
intercede - stand in the gap
[Eze 22:30 NKJV] 30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
[Rom 8:26-28 NKJV] 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit [is], because He makes intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose.

WAIT
[Isa 40:28-31 NKJV] 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to [those who have] no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew [their] strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
[1Co 2:9 NKJV] 9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
[Isa 64:4 NKJV] 4 For since the beginning of the world [Men] have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.
wait - to look for, to long for
[1Co 2:10-13 NKJV] 10 But God has revealed [them] to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
